Oohs and Aahs Guaranteed!

Wedding Accessories

Diamonds may not be the only rock of romance, but they are certainly the stone of glamour. Diamonds and bling weddings have grown in popularity over the past few years with more and more couples using Hollywood glamour and celebrity weddings as their source of inspiration. However, your own wedding doesn't have to be flashy to achieve the same effect. If you are looking to create your own diamonds and bling glamour theme, here are a few decorating tips that are sure to get gasps of appreciation from your guests:

Centerpieces

The centerpiece is the main decoration on your tables and will be the first thing to draw people’s eyes. Your diamonds and bling wedding needs to have grand centerpieces to create a dramatic first impression. Use tall vases and fill them with faux diamonds. Fill the vases with large bouquets of peonies, roses, hydrangea and twigs. Make sure the branches of the twigs flow out of the bouquet so that you can hang diamond crystals from each branch. Overall, these centerpieces should be about two feet tall and spread to two feet on top. Keep in mind that the more elaborate the centerpiece, the higher the cost will be (and the higher the ceilings in your venue need to be). To give off the appearance of an elaborate centerpiece without spending a fortune, use a short and narrow vase with a larger bouquet to give off the appearance of a larger decoration.

Table Decorations

The table decorations still need to be dramatic, especially when utilizing a grand centerpiece. Keep the tablecloth a pastel or neutral color such as light pink, baby blue or white. Use silver, white or ivory table runners for an accent. Sprinkle flower petals around centerpieces or use strings of pearls and tulle to decorate the base of the centerpieces. Tie off napkins with faux strands of pearls or diamond napkin holders shaped like an engagement ring. Use crystal or rhinestone studded place cards and tags for labeling guest seats.

Food and Cake

The food needs to be as elaborate and glamorous as the rest of the wedding. How do you classify food as glamorous? Though it does not have to be encrusted in diamonds, serve a gourmet meal containing shrimp, lobster or filet mignon. If you are on a tight budget, try serving a cocktail hour for your reception and use elegant appetizers for food.

For the wedding cake, use pastel or neutral colors for the base such as light pink, ivory or light green. Top the cake with a Swarovski crystal topper or a satiny bow tied off with a shiny broach. Keep the wedding cake very simple, but very elegant, using luster dust to make the whole work of art sparkle and shine in the lights. Cut the wedding cake with a crystal handled knife and serving set. Consider serving cupcakes to the guests as part of a dessert buffet using mini engagement rings to top off each cupcake or sugar diamonds on top of platters of petit fours.

Wedding Favors

Wedding favors should be given to the guests after the reception as a way to say “thank you” for coming to the ceremony and reception. Consider giving guests a diamond shaped paperweight or crystal ornament for a wedding favor. Fill small silver bags with rich chocolate truffles and engagement ring keychain rings. Top favor boxes with rhinestone monograms and use famous colored boxes such as robin’s egg blue to look like a Tiffany & Co. box. Use the signature white ribbon to tie off each favor box with a bow.
