Fairytale Weddings - For the Princess in Every Bride
Every bride is a princess on her wedding day, and a fairytale wedding theme can showcase both the princess and her handsome prince in full royal splendor. You do not need to be in a castle to experience the royal treatment you deserve, though that can be a perfect venue. With or without the castle, some creative planning, decorations, and details will give the whole day a storybook feel. The happily-ever-after is already a sure thing!
Start with the invitations, which could be designed to look like a scroll which a member of the court might open to read off the announcement of your upcoming nuptials. Use a font that is similar to what is used in a classic storybook. The colors of the invitations could be either an off white, antique white, or a pale pink. Send them with a ribbon attached either around the scroll or with a small bow attached.
The Fairytale Venue & Wedding Attire
If possible, choose a venue that has a garden feel to it, such as an arboretum. A castle or estate house would be wonderful, or you can decorate an indoor space with a lot of flowers, ribbons and netting.
The gown you choose will most likely be a princess cut and you should wear a tiara. The accessories worn should be those that scream princess, such as pearls or simulated diamonds and crystals. The groom and groomsmen could wear white tie and tails, and the bridesmaids could wear flower headpieces and full gowns. For the ultimate royal look, make sure you have a long train and the men wear morning suits (for a daytime wedding only).
A Storybook Reception
For a true fairytale experience, make arrangements to be delivered to the wedding and the reception in a horse and carriage. If possible, have several ice sculptures at the reception and decorate with large candelabras, lots of candles, white roses, and delicate table covers and place settings. Mark each person's seat with a heart shaped wedding coach place card frame and, to end the reception in style, inquire about a fireworks display or provide the guests with wedding sparklers.
Fairytale Theme Favors are a Royal Gesture
The wedding favors you choose will help to provide decorations to the tables and should fit with your theme. Opt for items such as tiara place card holders which can double as a favor and a place card. Other great favors are adorable frog prince candle favors or royal carriage-shaped silver picture frames, which can also double as place card holders.
